Steps to Create an eBay Seller Account
Follow these steps to create an eBay seller account:
Step 1: Go to www.ebay.com
Step 2: Navigate to ‘My eBay’ and select ‘Selling’ from the drop-down menu. This will take you to the sign-up page. Click ‘Create an account’ to register.
Step 3: Choose Personal Account and fill out your details. Click 'Create account.'
Step 4: Go back to 'My eBay' and select 'Selling' from the drop-down menu. Fill out your contact info and confirm the details. This will take you to your eBay selling overview page.
Step 4: Click ‘List an item.’ Enter the product name, UPC, ePID, ISBN, or part number, and click 'Get Started.'
Step 5: Fill out the ‘Sell your item’ form with the product information and submit. Your item listing is now saved as a draft. You’ll be redirected to the seller account verification page. Click ‘Get Started.’
Verify your eBay Account
You need to verify your account and add payout details to use your eBay account.
Step 1: Confirm identity verification with an email address, phone number, and address.
Step 2: Confirm payment verification for the Payout Method. You’ll need to submit the following to verify your bank account:
Name of the checking account
Bank name
Routing number
Account number
Step 3: You can also receive payments with Payoneer. Ensure the account type and country of registration matches your eBay account. Follow the prompts to link your payout accounts. eBay processes your payment within two business days after order confirmation. Bank clearing may take an additional three business days.
But before receiving your first payout, it’s smart to separate business and personal finances, especially since you’re just starting. This makes your bookkeeping easier and gives you a clearer idea of what works and what doesn't. It’ll also help you make quick changes and grow your business faster.
Step 4: eBay requires a credit or debit card, which will be used if there’s a payment failure. Enter your card details for verification.
Step 5: If there are any issues with your registration details, you’ll be notified in the ‘My eBay’ messages.
Congratulations, you have created an eBay seller account. Once eBay verifies your identity, you can list products, set business policies, and shipping preferences.
